Every year, millions of people search for “how to watch the Super Bowl for free.” And with the biggest sporting event on the 2025 US calendar less than a month away, NFL fans now have another way to watch the game for free.
Super Bowl LIX Is Available for Free on Tubi
With the NFL Playoffs in full swing, FOX Sports has announced that the main event, Super Bowl LIX, will be available to stream live, and for free, on Tubi. Giving cord-cutters (and those who have never subscribed to cable) another way to watch the big game.
In a press release, FOX announced that, as well as the Super Bowl LIX takeover on its linear channels, the game will be streamed live on Tubi on February 9. For the uninitiated, Tubi is the FAST (free, ad-supported television) platform which FOX acquired in 2020.
Super Bowl LIX will be broadcast live and in 4K on Tubi, as well as on FOX, FOX Deportes, Telemundo, and other digital NFL properties. As well as the game itself, Tubi will be broadcasting its own pre-game show focused on the “celebrity, fashion and culture” behind the Super Bowl.
As the Super Bowl always airs on network TV, NFL fans have never needed to subscribe to watch it. However, watching it on Tubi is potentially the easiest option offered thus far, as Tubi is available on Android, iOS, most smart TVs, and other devices such as games consoles.
A Good Way of Getting More People on Tubi
While it may seem rather generous of FOX to stream Super Bowl LIX for free on Tubi, doing so isn’t a completely selfless gesture. While you don’t need an account to watch regular Tubi, you will need an account to watch the Super Bowl on the platform.
While a Tubi account is free and easy to set up, this gives FOX an easy way of getting more registered users on Tubi. With the network likely hoping that people will sign up to watch Super Bowl LIX, but then stick around to watch the other programming available on it.
