If you’re subscribed to Disney+, you’re in luck because there’s a lot of exciting content coming your way this September. From gripping action-packed documentaries to box-office blockbusters you might have missed, Disney+’s September lineup is packed with variety. Among all the new shows and movies, I’m especially looking forward to watching these titles.
Where sports analysis meets entertainment
The Rich Eisen Show is finally coming to Disney+, with its unique blend of witty commentary, sports analysis, and interviews with a wide array of guests. The show launched in 2014 and has been wildly popular over the years.
Case in point: It was nominated for several Emmys, and the host Eisen even received the prestigious Marconi Radio Award for Network/Syndicated Personality of the Year in 2023. The show premieres on September 2 and is a great option for anyone who wants to expand their entertainment lineup.
A remake that feels both fresh and familiar
Lilo & Stitch is still playing in a few theaters, but September 3 marks its official streaming debut on Disney+. Unlike the animated original, the 2025 version is a live-action remake with its own distinct visual style. For those unfamiliar with the story, Stitch is an alien fugitive who crashes into Lilo Pelekai’s home in Hawaii. He is adopted as a pet by Lilo, who is completely unprepared for Stitch’s unpredictable and chaotic behavior.
But the two soon form an unlikely bond, as Lilo teaches Stitch the importance of love and empathy. It’s a heartwarming story, and the acting is solid. And although it’s been repackaged in a new form, the story still feels familiar and nostalgic.
A new villain shakes things up
This four-part sequel series is coming to Disney+ on September 19 and will follow Sig, Jedi, Bob, Yesi, Servo, and Dev as they embark on a galaxy-spanning adventure. This time around, the heroes will face off against Solitus, a new and powerful enemy. Along the way, they’ll also make several new alliances.
The original series, which premiered last year, was a lot of fun. Given that the whole cast is returning for the sequel, fans can expect a lot of laughs and some action-packed sequences.
A dark twist on the MCU
Marvel Zombies is the latest animated offering from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is inspired by Marvel’s What If…? series, which featured a single episode. The new series will essentially continue that storyline, diving deeper into the story over a span of four episodes.
In the show, the Avengers are overtaken by a zombie plague, and, as a result, turn into terrifying flesh-eating predators. A band of survivors must now navigate this apocalyptic world and face off against the Avengers. While they make their way across the world, they come upon a secret that could be the key to saving—or destroying—humanity. Releasing later in the month on September 24, this is a must-watch if you’re an MCU fan.
Digging into Egypt’s ancient mysteries one excavation at a time
Premiering on September 24 as well, Lost Treasures of Egypt is returning to Disney+ with its sixth season. The docuseries will follow teams of Egyptologists as they dig deeper into some of the most legendary archaeological sites in Egypt—all while facing intense heat and unforgiving desert terrain. These factors help create an atmosphere of suspense, taking an otherwise straightforward archaeological dig into an adventure.
Lost Treasures of Egypt is a great break from the usual crime documentaries that chill you to the bone, but it still offers plenty of action to keep things interesting. If you find this sort of documentary interesting, the first five seasons are all available on Disney+ to stream and are well worth catching up on.

Springfield’s residents are back for another season of hilarious hijinks
The Simpsons is currently the longest-running scripted series in television history, and you can now watch its latest installment—season 37—on Disney+ this month. What surprises me is that this show still manages to offer offbeat storylines and clever parodies, even after more than three decades. It’s no surprise that longtime fans keep coming back to it, and I’m no different.
In an interview with ScreenRant, showrunner Matt Selman revealed that Homer will become obsessed with a Reacher-like show in season 37, while we can also expect a classic “Lisa gets popular” episode.
We have the Treehouse of Horror, we’ll talk about that a little more at Comic-Con. We have a big kind of a two hander with Bart and Professor Frink called Bart and Frink. The title is a parody of Barton Fink. We’ve done others like Bart the Fink, we should actually do an episode called “Bart-on blank” and every permutate we can think of. It kind of satirizes tech billionaire culture and the desire to be body-hacking, trying to stay alive forever, those techno guys.
Disney+ is one of my favorite streaming services, thanks to its easy-to-use UI, availability of live channels, and expansive content partnerships. I also really appreciate that I can always fall back on my past favorites, whether it’s rewatching a classic movie or diving back into the Star Wars and Marvel sagas, with this platform. If you’re not subscribed to Disney+, now is a great time to join.
