How many times have you been so enamored by a particular scene that you’re watching on Netflix that you either want to save it for posterity or share it with someone else? Netflix’s latest feature lets you do just that in a couple of taps.
Moments Lets You Share and Rewatch Scenes
As announced in a post on Tudum by Netflix, Moments lets you save, rewatch, and share your favorite Netflix moments. Whether it’s the carriage scene from Bridgerton, the dance scene from Wednesday, or countless others you care to mention.
All you need to do is tap the Moments button at the bottom of the screen to save the scene. This adds it to your My Netflix tab, where you can watch it over and over. And if you rewatch the film or the show it’s from, it will start from that scene.
Once saved, you can also then share the scene on various messaging apps and social media apps. You can also send it as a link to anyone you think will enjoy it. And all with just a couple of taps within Netflix’s mobile app.
Moments is rolling out now to the Netflix iOS app, with the Android app set to follow within the next few weeks. Which gives you just enough time to decide which clips you want to share with others online.
Scenes That Go Viral Could Attract New Users
The Moments feature is part of a broader marketing campaign titled, “It’s So Good”. As you can see in the video above, the campaign sees stars such as Giancarlo Esposito and Simone Biles excitedly talking up their favorite Netflix moments.
It’s a clever campaign, as it harks back to the days before streaming ruined the television experience. Because people used to go to the cinema or watch the same show as everyone else when it was broadcast live, it was a collective and shared experience.
Now, with most people streaming content on their phones, and not at the same time, going viral is the key. So, making it easy for people to share iconic clips from their favorite films and shows could help attract new users to Netflix.
