Spotify has a variety of personalized playlists on its platform, but nothing has been quite as captivating as Daylist. Since Spotify added its Daylist playlist, I’ve been listening to it more and more for these reasons.
1 Different Playlists at Different Times
Like other personalized playlists on Spotify, Daylist is dynamic. But what makes it special is that it automatically updates multiple times a day. As such, Daylist is the most regularly updated personalized playlist on the platform. The main idea behind Daylist is that it provides you with a mixture of music genres that you can listen to during certain moments in a day and on a specific day of the week.
So, if you listen to more RNB and rock music at a particular time on a specific day of the week, Daylist will provide a compilation of songs in those genres during that time. The frequency of updates makes Daylist much more appealing, and the fact that it considers what you listen to during certain moments or certain days has made it my go-to playlist for tuning in without second thought.
2 Mixes Different Niches and Microgenres
Daylist stands out from other playlists because it doesn’t just consider a certain genre of music. Instead, it mixes a variety of songs across different niches and microgenres into one playlist. For instance, as of this writing, my Daylist playlist is titled “Afro Beats Kizomba Early Morning” and contains songs from different genres, including Afrobeat, Kizomba, and more.
After the update, the playlist switched the title to “Kenyan Hip Hop old school Friday Morning.” It included songs across several genres, including Kenyan Hip-hop, Pop, Drill, Bongo, and more.
3 Easier Discovery of Music
Thanks to the regular updates throughout the day, Daylist has been helpful in my discovery of new music. I get new playlists after certain hours throughout the day, which contain music I’ve listened to in the past or my favorites in a certain genre, but most importantly, they also throw in a couple of new songs I haven’t heard.
Of course, I don’t solely rely on Daylist to discover new songs on Spotify, as there are other ways to do so on the platform. Plus, there are great sites to discover new music on Spotify. However, Daylist played a key role in my music discovery, as I discovered a unique mix of different music niches.
I love Spotify’s Daylist playlist because it’s regularly updated, mixes different niches and microgenres, and helps me discover new music. If these sound like enough reasons to you, you can also find your Spotify Daylist playlist and start listening today.
