There are lots of reasons to look forward to the end of the year. The holidays (of various kinds), family get-togethers, a chance to start afresh in the new year, etc. But there’s also Wrapped, Spotify’s annual celebration of the previous 12 months in music, curated for every individual Spotify user.

Spotify’s 2024 Wrapped dropped on December 4, 2024. This was a little later than in the previous couple of years, when Wrapped arrived before the end of November. However, I feel it was worth the wait, despite some people complaining that Spotify Wrapped was a little underwhelming this year.

Regardless, if you’re a Spotify user who hasn’t yet checked out their Wrapped roundup for 2024, we recommend you do so while it’s still fresh (and people are talking about it on social media).

To find your Wrapped, open the Spotify app and navigate to the Home tab. As long as you have an up-to-date version of Spotify installed on your phone, you should see a Wrapped banner at the top of the screen (“Wrapped” surrounded by brightly colored edging).

Select that, and you’ll find all the 2024 Spotify Wrapped elements in one place. The core elements being:

• Your Wrapped, which is the slideshow showing you various stats about your year on the Spotify app.
• Your Top Songs 2024, which is a playlist containing your 100 most-played tracks presented in order.
• Your Wrapped AI Podcast, which is a podcast featuring two AI hosts discussing your Wrapped results.
• Your Artist Clips, which are short videos by the artists you listened to a lot thanking you for your support.

However, once you have soaked up all of those, there is even more to discover.

How to Get More From Your 2024 Spotify Wrapped

Now that you’ve had a look at the main elements of your Spotify Wrapped for 2024, it’s time to delve a little deeper.

First up is the DJ: Wrapped section, which should be available to most Spotify users. Essentially, if Spotify’s AI DJ is available in your location and you have used it in 2024, you’ll have access to DJ: Wrapped. DJ: Wrapped is the AI DJ’s take on Wrapped, with Spotify’s AI host playing selections of songs based on your listening habits over the past 12 months.

Next up are the generic roundups that all Spotify users will see, regardless of their own Wrapped results. You should see 2024 in Music, 2024 in Audiobooks, and 2024 in Podcasts, covering the three main content types Spotify offers. Rather than bespoke lists, these are filled with playlists that lay out the top artists, tracks, albums, audiobooks, podcasts, and more besides.

Now, it’s time to dive back into a playlist put together just for you: this one titled Your Music Evolution 2024. In the main Wrapped roundup, you should have noticed Spotify trying to signpost your musical journey through the year, with your tastes changing from month to month. Well, this is the playlist filled with the songs that directed that, with the main genres listed at the top.

Last but not least is a way of keeping the Wrapped fun going for longer. Scroll down the Wrapped tab until you find Want more Wrapped? This is an invitation to ask Spotify’s AI to create playlists based on elements of your 2024 Wrapped. All you need to do is ask the AI to create a playlist based on certain parameters, and it will deliver. And if you don’t like the results, you can refine them.

Spotify is certainly leaning heavily into artifical intelligence, and this year’s Wrapped reflects that. However, how much you get from your Wrapped depends on how deeply you’re willing to dive into it.
