I tried Poe out of curiosity, thinking it was just another AI hub. To my surprise, it turned out to be the most practical way to blend text, images, and audio across multiple models, without managing a tangle of subscriptions—and it’s time you made the switch.
The AI App That Lets You Use GPT-4o, Claude, and More
If you’ve ever wanted to compare how different AI models handle the same prompt, Poe makes that frictionless. It puts GPT-4, Claude, Gemini, and other top-tier models side by side, letting you pick the best AI tool for your task—whether that’s coding, creative writing, or research. With ChatGPT, you’re stuck with OpenAI’s lineup. With Poe, you have options.
The interface is straightforward: pick a model from the model slider and ask your question. You can also compare responses across different AIs by tagging (using “@”) the model you want to generate the new result. If you’re new to Poe and want to get started, we have a comprehensive guide on how to use Quora’s Poe to access AI chatbots and LLMs.

If you don’t want to be stuck paying for a single AI chatbot, these are the AI apps you need to try.
Poe also includes some lesser-known but powerful models. There are Assistant (Poe’s in-house model), various fine-tuned versions optimized for specific tasks, and even community-created bots that specialize in niche areas. This variety means you’re not limited to the mainstream options everyone else is using.
What You Get With Poe That ChatGPT Doesn’t Offer
Poe gives you access to multiple AI models in the same interface. You don’t have to jump between websites, apps, or subscriptions. You pick the model you want and start chatting. You can compare answers, test strengths, or switch models mid-task.
Then there’s the ecosystem of bots. Poe lets anyone create and share their own bots with custom instructions and behaviors. Some are tuned for research. Others act like writing coaches or language tutors.
There are bots for roleplay, exam prep, and productivity workflows. It’s a public layer built on top of the core models, and it adds real utility. ChatGPT has custom GPTs, but they’re limited to OpenAI models and almost hidden in a separate menu. With Poe, the bots work across models, and you can even create new ones if you want.

They don’t lose the thread when discussions get lengthy.
But Poe doesn’t stop at text. It integrates with audio models like those from Eleven Labs for real-time text-to-speech. You can turn any response into smooth, natural audio that’s downloadable.
And then there’s video. Poe also gives you access to cutting-edge image and video generation models like Sora, Kling, and Runway. You can generate videos with these and other video models right on the Poe app.
Best of all, its price model is simple. One subscription unlocks every premium model on the platform. No juggling multiple upgrades or deciding which AI to splurge on this month.
What Poe Still Can’t Do (Yet)
Poe covers a lot of ground, but if you’re coming from ChatGPT, there are a few features you’ll probably miss.
ChatGPT can remember preferences you’ve set and carry them across chats. Poe doesn’t offer that kind of persistent personalization yet. Each conversation starts with a blank slate unless you’ve built a custom bot to carry specific instructions.
And while Poe gives you access to premium models like Claude Opus and GPT-4, it does so through a compute point system. That means even paying users are metered. You can run out of credits mid-session and have to wait for a reset. ChatGPT Plus doesn’t meter usage in the same way. Once you’re in, you’re in.
Why Poe Replaced ChatGPT for Me
I didn’t plan to replace ChatGPT. I was perfectly fine using it for everyday tasks. But once I tried Poe, it started to feel like using a single tool for everything was holding me back.
Initially, I wanted to compare models easily. But Poe made AI feel modular—I could match the right tool to each task without juggling apps or subscriptions. This flexibility is exactly why I use Poe instead of ChatGPT.
Poe also made it easy to turn text into images or short videos using built-in generative tools. I didn’t need separate apps or paid plugins. If I had an idea, I could sketch it out visually in a few seconds, try different styles, or switch to a different model’s take on it. Even the audio generation worked well. I could turn any response into natural-sounding speech and save it instantly.

I still think ChatGPT is excellent, especially if you rely on its advanced tools or deeper integrations. But for me, Poe offered something more practical: a single workspace where I could try different models, generate images and audio, and work faster without friction.
