One of our favourite robot vacuums just got smaller to clean more places

The Dreame X50 Ultra Complete is one of our favourite robot vacuums. It scored a full five stars in our review, and we declared it “an unbelievably clever robot vacuum and mop that uses robotic legs to clear thresholds, offers superior cleaning and even cleans itself.” At CES 2026, Dreame pulled the wraps off the X60 Max Ultra Complete. While the name leaves much to be desired, this looks like a robot you want roaming around your floors. The smart home brand has taken the excellent X50 dust-sucker and made it smaller so it can clean in even more places.…

Everything I hate about Apple’s Pages, Numbers and Keynote revamp

I’m sure old farts like me increasingly bang on about peak Apple. The good old days that followed the very, very bad old days when it felt like the company might wink out of existence entirely. But Steve Jobs returned and the hits kept coming. iMac. iPod. iPhone. iPad. Apple was a hardware company making fantastic hardware. But to make people want to use it, Apple made great software too – and obsessed over the details. Sure, there were flubs, and you’d need to be spectacularly naive to think Apple didn’t also care about money. This was, after all, a company that needed an awkward cash…

Birdfy Feeder Vista gives you a panoramic view of avian eating habits

Most camera-equipped bird feeders are the ornithological equivalent of a video doorbell, but the Birdfy Feeder Vista is more like one of those fancy 360-degree action cams. Rather than capturing up-close-and-personal footage that makes any flying visitors to your garden look like a dodgy bunch of seed stealers, the Birdfy Feeder Vista has a back-to-back dual-lens camera on top that shoots 6K video at 30fps (or 2K at 120fps if you fancy a bit of slow-mo action) so you get a proper panoramic view of your feathered friends when they land for a bit of scran. It’ll also snap 14MP…

Spotify’s offline cache might be taking up more space than your music

Streaming your music is great until you hit a patch with no connectivity or a long flight where you might need to download your music. Being able to download your music to your phone also sounds great, until you realize that Spotify’s online cache is eating up more storage than the music itself. Apart from adding features no one really asked for, Spotify can’t seem to figure out local storage. For anyone on a small SSD or a phone with limited storage, that means several gigabytes of space disappearing without a clear explanation from the app. Offline downloads and cache…

Don’t fall for this “free streaming stick” scam

Streaming services were meant to be the end of expensive cable subscriptions packed with channels you don’t need. But we’ve come full circle, and the promise of cheaper platforms filled with all the shows you want to watch has become the very thing it set out to replace. Given you could easily end up spending more than 100 bucks a month to subscribe to all of the top streaming services, it’s no wonder that folks are looking for cheaper alternatives. But those cheaper services aren’t always what they seem, and in some cases, they’re an outright scam. MoxiPlayer isn’t what…

Netflix finally found its BoJack Horseman successor, and it’s actually great

Netflix has a long history of producing solid animated comedies, with shows like Big Mouth, Disenchantment, and F is for Family having kept people entertained for years. But for my money, Netflix has never topped Bojack Horseman, the six-season masterpiece that started out as a crude comedy about a washed up movie star who happened to be a horse, and which ended as an existential odyssey about a washed up movie star who happened to be a horse. I’ve been waiting for something to fill the Bojack-shaped hole in my life for years, and a new show coming later this…

I think the MG4 Urban will confuse and impress budget electric car buyers in equal measure

Stuff VerdictIt’s not as fun to drive as its namesake, but the MG4 Urban offers more space and everyday practicality. Anyone looking for great value should find lots to likeProsExcellent practical design and space aplentyInterior styling looks pretty tasty overallTech and infotainment screen are greatConsLooks a little bland on the outsideHarsher ride than that of the MG4Fairly average overall performance Introduction I can see why the MG4 became such a big seller: it wasn’t ludicrously expensive yet was surprisingly fun to drive. Still is. A mid-life refresh with a slicker interior has only widened its appeal within its price bracket.…

Can a smart ring really replace a fitness tracker? I tried one for a month to find out

As someone who enjoys fitness and makes a very average living from covering new technology, it might come as no surprise that I’ve been lucky enough to experience a wide range of fitness and workout gadgetry over the past 20 years. Simple and discreet fitness trackers, such as those from Whoop, as well as more complex fitness watches like those from Garmin, Suunto and Apple, have all, at some point, graced my wrist for extended periods of time. Full disclosure, I settled on Garmin many moons ago for the daily workout tracking, purely because I became so ingrained in the…

This TV setting could be adding input lag to your games

You’ve been playing your favorite shooter, and something feels off. Your aim is sluggish, your dodges are late, and you can’t shake the feeling that the game isn’t responding the way it should. Before you blame your controller or your internet connection, there’s a good chance the real culprit is hiding inside your TV’s picture settings. There are default TV settings you should disable to improve your experience, but motion smoothing in particular is the one sabotaging your gaming sessions without you even knowing it. Motion smoothing sounds fancy, but here’s what it actually does Your TV is inventing extra…
