In fact, there’s so much new stuff coming to Netflix so often that it can be hard to keep track. That’s why we’re here to fill you in on all the new stuff worth watching this weekend.
Hannibal Seasons 1-3

So far as original series and movies go, Netflix is a little lacking ahead of this weekend. However, it does have some classics coming to the platform, including all three seasons of Hannibal.
A prequel to The Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal tells the story of Will Graham (Hugh Dancy), a talented criminal profiler on the hunt for a serial killer in the Minnesota area. Unbeknownst to him, his therapist is himself a serial killer: the infamous cannibal Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen). The pair of them develop a twisted, codependent relationship, and find their professional and personal worlds colliding.
Although it’s hard to eclipse Anthony Hopkins, Hannibal Lecter is the role that Mads Mikkelsen was born to play. This show also helped boost the career of showrunner Bryan Fuller, who went on to create shows like American Gods. Hannibal is weird, gory, horrific, and deeply compelling. You may have found your new obsession.

Mary Beth Barone: Galaxy Brain
Available as of July 28
Netflix is known for its comedy specials, which spotlight both household names and newer voices. This is the latter. Mary Beth Barone makes her Netflix comedy debut in Galaxy Brain, where she tackles topics like reproductive rights, friend breakups, NYPD merch, and more. As she proclaims in the trailer, it’s “the first Netflix special ever to be done completely in vocal fry.
Barone does 60 minutes of comedy here. If you need a laugh after the psychosexual nightmare of Hannibal, this could be perfect.
Wrath
Available as of July 29
Wrath is a new Brazilian drama series about a young man, Marcelo (Vinicius Neri), who is rescued from the brink of death by an MMA coach. Marcelo has no memory of his former life, but finds that he has a natural talent for fighting. From there, he uncovers clues about his past and gets drawn into a web of crime, secrets, and rivalries.
In addition to featuring lots of brutal fight scenes, Wrath looks like it will fit right into Netflix’s long tradition of producing great foreign-language TV series. It can be watched in the original Portuguese with subtitles or in English with dubbing.
The Bombing of Pan Am 103
Available as of July 30
This is the premiere Netflix original debut of the weekend. The Bombing of Pan Am 103 is a six-part miniseries about the 1988 terrorist bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland. We look at how Scottish and U.S. law enforcement agencies worked together to uncover the truth behind this international tragedy.
The Bombing of Pan Am 103 aired on BBC One in 2025 and will now make its international debut on Netflix. The show is slick, detailed, and well-acted by the likes of Connor Swindells, Merritt Wever, and Patrick J. Adams. It’s a prestige period piece that looks into a fascinating moment in the recent history of the world.

Fast and Furious Movie Collection
Available August 1
The Fast & Furious movies have been going strong since 2001, and now a bunch of them are going to land on Netflix, including:

And if you want to binge another classic movie series after you’re done, Netflix is also getting five movies in the Chucky series of horror films on the same day. Get excited, and the get scared.

Let’s wind down with a gentle sitcom. A reimagining of the British series Doc Martin, Best Medicine stars Josh Charles (The Good Wife) as Dr. Martin Best, a talented but brusque physician who leaves a prestigious hospital position in Boston to start a private practice in the village of Port Wenn, Maine, where he vacationed as a child. He reconnects with his aunt, a local lobster woman played by Annie Potts, and slowly starts to come around to life in a small town, even though his standoffish demeanor doesn’t mix well with the cheery locals.
To add a bit of pathos, Dr. Martin has a phobia of blood, which is tied to an incident in his past. Whatever the reason, that’s going to make it hard to practice medicine, no matter the size of a town. Shenanigans both funny and dramatic follow.

These are some of the big new Netflix offerings to watch out for this weekend, but when it comes to Netflix, there’s always more. As of July 27, you can stream A Quiet Place: Day One, the terrifying prequel to the acclaimed 2018 horror movie A Quiet Place. If you want something a little less explosive, you can also check out Tár, the Oscar-nominated movie starring Cate Blanchett as a morally flexible conductor of classical music.
There are more movies worth watching coming on Aug. 1. That’s when Selma, the Oscar-winning film about the life of Martin Luther King Jr., comes to the service. The action movies Speed and Speed 2: Cruise Control will also hit Netflix on the same day.
