Over the years, I’ve tested a considerable number of headphones, gaming headsets, earbuds, and more. The majority of them come across my desk, get reviewed, then get sent packing to friends and family (and my kids’ school).
But there is one company whose headsets I’ve always held onto: HyperX.
And right now, you can pick up two of HyperX’s best gaming headsets with a tidy chunk of change cut from the ticket price.
Why you can’t go wrong with a HyperX Cloud II gaming headset
I used these cans for years, and they were so comfortable
I used the HyperX Cloud II gaming headset for years. It’s a wired headset, which was perfect for me, as I would only really use it sitting at my desk while working or gaming.
I found them supremely comfortable, with plush, memory-foam earpads that really help draw me into whatever I was doing, be that gaming or otherwise. The headband is also surprisingly comfortable, and I never found the clamping force too tight.
Then there is the 7.1 virtual surround sound, which still works well and is up to scratch, some ten years after the first launch of this headset. The large 53mm drivers aid this, delivering really pinpoint audio performance in-game, while also letting your favorite music shine.
I had Cloud II with the red flourish, which I always thought was a nice touch, and is the classic HyperX colorway. And even ten years on, like I said, this gaming headset more than delivers enough quality, especially considering its price.

Memory foam ear cushions, padded leatherette headband
The HyperX Cloud II delivers legendary comfort and performance with 53mm drivers, 7.1 virtual surround sound, and a durable aluminum frame. Its memory foam ear cushions and leatherette headband ensure long-lasting comfort, while the detachable noise-cancelling mic provides clear communication. Designed for immersive gaming, it offers rich, detailed sound and passive noise isolation—ideal for PC, console, and everyday use. A proven favorite for reliable, high-quality audio and durability.
Want a bit more quality? Upgrade to the HyperX Cloud III
The updated version delivers just a little bit more package
Of course, knowing when it’s time to move on is a key part of life, not just with tech hardware. I didn’t immediately upgrade to the HyperX Cloud III when they launched, but it wasn’t much after, either.
That’s because the Cloud III has a few small but notable upgrades over its predecessor. Specifically, HyperX angled the 53mm drivers in the Cloud III for better audio precision in games, which makes a difference to your immersion and audio tracking.
The introduction of DTS Headphone:X for spatial audio is also another reason it’s worth upgrading, especially if you’re into first person shooters that demand audio precision. The HyperX Cloud III also supports the company’s NGENUITY software, though I must admit this isn’t something I’ve used much (or had much success with when trying to!).
Moving the audio controls onto the headset itself makes it much easier to control your volume and mute your voice while using Discord or similar.
That’s not all HyperX is discounting in the October Prime Day sales
Grab a HyperX bargain before they end
For me, the Cloud II and III gaming headsets are great deals from HyperX—but they’re not the only HyperX deals you’ll find in the Amazon Prime Big Deals Day.
I’m also pretty sweet on the HyperX Alloy Origins mechanical keyboard. It’s an ultra-compact 60 percent board, which means it’ll fit perfectly onto a small desk, but it’s also a handy companion for a workspace or if you don’t want to use your laptop keyboard.
In that, it’s pretty versatile, and while the RGB might not be for everyone, it’s easy enough to set to a single color or switch off entirely. This mechanical keyboard has a pretty hefty discount on it during the October Prime Day event, so it’s worth a look, even for a backup.
