Google is known for its Easter eggs and surprises in Google Search, and it just added another one. So, if you’re a fan of nostalgic games, don’t search for Brick Breaker on Google unless you have a lot of time on your hands.
Google Lets You Play Block Breaker Straight From Search
When you search for Block Breaker on Google, you’ll see a window for the game as the first result with a Play button that you can click on. When you do that, the game will appear over the search results and show you the instructions on how to play.
The mechanics of the game are quite simple, which is probably why it’s a hit with just about everyone. You just move the paddle at the bottom of the window left or right with your arrow keys, and then you press the up arrow key on your keyboard to launch the ball.
Your main target is to hit all the blocks without letting the ball fall out of the screen, meaning you’ll have to catch it with the paddle. The blocks can also contain power ups, like an extra ball or blasters for your paddle, but may also contain a power-down that will freeze your paddle for a while. Once you hit all the blocks, a new set will appear, meaning this game could go on for a long time—maybe even forever.
This game is available on both desktop and mobile devices. If you want to play this on your phone, you just need to go to the Google Search page on your browser or open the Google app and type Block Breaker. You’ll use your finger instead of the arrow keys to drag the paddle across your screen. While this might sound more intuitive and would likely be easier for some people, your finger will also block a part of the screen if you hold your phone with one hand, making playing on it a bit more challenging.
Block Breaker expands the number of games you can play directly from Google Search. These include several classics like Snake, Pac-Man, Tic-tac-toe, and Minesweeper. Aside from these games, there are also other fun Google Search Easter eggs you can look for if you want to burn some time. The company is so fond of these little secrets that even the Google Nest Mini has several fun hidden surprises you can try.
