Every month, Netflix sheds lots of movies and TV shows; there are some great ones leaving the service soon that you may want to watch while you can.
But it all balances out, because Netflix always adds at least as much as it subtracts. There are tons of new stuff coming in November to satisfy just about every taste, whether you like reality TV, documentaries, prestige dramas, holiday fluff, or sci-fi/fantasy. With streaming prices on the rise, people are always wondering whether they should cancel their subscriptions, but there always seem to be reasons to keep Netflix in particular around.

Back to the Future trilogy — November 1
It’s not all about Netflix originals
We’re going to talk mostly about Netflix originals, but the service also hosts lots of classic shows and movies. One of the biggest coming in November is the Back to the Future trilogy, about Marty McFly’s adventures through time and space. If you love these movies, reward yourself with a rewatch. And if you’ve never seen them, now is the perfect time.
The Hangover movies are also arriving on the same day, if one movie trilogy isn’t enough for you.

Squid Game: The Challenge season 2 — November 4
Watch Squid Game: The Challenge on Netflix
Squid Game, about desperate people who compete in a series of death-defying games, is the most popular Netflix series of all time, so of course, they had to make a reality show out of it. The second season will feature games from the second and third seasons of the original series, including the mini-game marathon and the Mingle game, plus some surprises.
Contestants lie, cheat, and steal just like on the original show. The only difference is that they don’t die when they lose.

Garfield (Michael Shannon), who was assassinated by a guy named Charles Guiteau (Matthew Macfadyen) in 1881. Pardon the 150-year-old spoilers. This is a prestige series that you can turn on over a long weekend and sink into.

Fresh from the theaters
Frankenstein is the latest movie from Guillermo del Toro, the visionary director behind films like Pan’s Labyrinth and The Shape of Water. A Merry Little Ex-Mas — November 12
The Christmas season begins early on Netflix
Christmas isn’t until December, but Christmas movie season begins right now. Alicia Silverstone and Oliver Hudson star in a romantic comedy about a divorcing couple who hold one last Christmas together for the sake of their children. When the guy brings his new girlfriend, hijinks ensue.
Christmas rom-coms make for easy watching and are a genre unto themselves. If you’re into these kinds of movies (and we know you’re out there), there are a bunch more flying in on November 15, movies with titles like A Royal Date for Christmas, A Sprinkle of Christmas, and A Vineyard Christmas. The eighth season of The Great British Baking Show: Holidays finishes off November’s holiday content offensive on November 20.

Jake Paul vs. Tank Davis (Live) — November 14
Watch Paul vs. Tyson on Netflix
Jake Paul’s fight against Mike Tyson aired lived on Netflix in 2024 and became the most-streamed sporting event in history. A year later, Netflix is going back to the well and pitting Paul against boxer Tank Davis.
A lot of people tuned into the Mike Tyson fight hoping that Paul, who had a mixed reputation as an influencer before transitioning into boxing, would lose. That didn’t happen, but this new exhibition match may give them a second chance at schadenfreude. The deck seems once again stacked in Paul’s favor given that Paul stands a whole seven inches taller than Tank Davis, but Davis is a boxer in his prime, whereas Tyson had been retired for nearly 20 years when he and Paul fought.
Love him or hate him, Jake Paul knows how to stage a buzzworthy event.
